I'm glad you're going to Church on Sunday.
I think if you get your life centered, and find peace within, you won't necessarily need (desire maybe, but not NEED) to be around others all the time, or have a girlfriend. And the thing is, usually, when you get to that 'place' you will most likely find the person you will be happiest with. Women typically are attracted to the guy that is at peace with himself and life, and very centered. We want to feel secure and protected, and you have to be in that 'place' to give us that. You know?
Good luck.
Pray.

Al, you are so funny....you almost sound as if you are going thru.. menopause..:)...have you had any night sweats or panic attacks when waking up at 3am?.....:) ...
If not, then you must still be having withdrawals..from your old way of doing things..........I think if you had a steady g/f right now you would be telling us how she was mad at you for not taking her out........ or you would be complaining that she wanted too much of your time....
Why not use this time to work on yourself....... and don't feel like a loser just because you aren't out with a crowd of people... Besides, there's no promise that a "Crowd" is going to make you feel less lonely..maybe for the moment....but then you always have to go home with yourself.....So why not work on appreciating yourself for who you are, and learn to enjoy your own company......You are such a nice person...with so many wonderful things to offer that special person... So, don't waste your time giving away all of those wonderful things about you. Save some of them for that special person who just might be around the corner......I think you will both appreciate each other that much more....

I agree with buying an older car... my friends and I all had older cars for our 1st (I turned 16 in 2003 and I had a 91 Honda Accord, my best friend had an explorer that had already gone through her dad and older sister) When I graduated my parents bought me a new car. My parents rule is "I'll buy you one brand new car and then after that you're on your own" So when I decided to buy my new car I had a decent car to put down instead of cash which in turn brought my monthly payment down to what I could afford. When your in high school, you should NEVER have a new car! People tag them in the parking lot, your not very experienced and many other reasons. Buy a used car with good gas mileage!

I can totally relate to the human contact thing! It sucks eating alone! My husband is deployed and my little boy stays at his father's every other weekend and it's all I can do not to go through my phone randomly calling people to go out to eat or whatever. It sucks! Maybe some wonderful woman will enter your life soon and you won't have to worry about being alone. But, I say, stick to what you said a week or so ago and accept being single and quit looking! I quit and found the greatest guy on the face of this earth! Good luck and thanks for the blogs! It's nice to have something to read to take a break!

I agree with Melanie. Definitely buy a used car for a first car. Boys tend to be rough on a car's transmission, well at least my brother was. My parents said that they would put $4000 towards a car and if wanted something more then we had to come up with the money. I sold my horse in order to put $3000 more down on a car which made me respect it that much more.

The only thing I can say about Peyton's car is buy an OLD one. First cars for teens are basically sacrificial so dont waste money buying anything new-- plus buying older teaches them humility and also to take care of things. Our daughter's first car was a Honda civic-- (ran like a charm and great gas mileage) and we only carried liability insurance on it. Best car we've ever bought! (and yes, it got "dinged" at the mall, in the parking lot at school, etc.. but it didnt hurt quite so bad cuz it was older). Save the new car for when he graduates college :)
